Dream Harassment Policy
Policy Statement This defines the harassment policy of Feral Utopia.
The most productive and satisfying dream environment is one in which everything is accomplished in a spirit of mutual trust and respect. Harassment is offensive, impairs morale, undermines the integrity of relationships and causes serious harm to the environment, efficiency and stability of our dream.
All staff and patrons have a right an environment free from discrimination and harassing conduct, including sexual harassment. Harassment on the basis of an person's race, color, creed, ancestry, national origin, age, disability, sex, arrest or conviction record, marital status, sexual orientation, membership in the military reserve or any other personal attribute is expressly prohibited under this policy.
Harassment on any of these bases is also illegal under most state laws in the United States and against the Furcadia Terms of Service.

Recognizing Harassment
Harassment may be subtle, manipulative and is not always clearly evident. It does not refer to occasional compliments of a socially acceptable nature or cases of benign disagreement. It refers to behavior that is not welcome and is personally offensive. All forms of gender harassment are covered. Men can be sexually harassed; men can harass men; women can harass other women. Anyone can be considered an offender, whether they are staff or patron.
Some examples: Verbal: Jokes, insults and innuendos (based on race, sex, age, disability, etc.); degrading remarks; referring to someone as a stud, hunk, babe or any other term that makes the person uncomfortable; inappropriate/disrepsectful comments on a person's body, sex life or other personal attributes; or pressuring an individual to do something (agree with you, give you items or artwork, etc.).
Non-Verbal: Behaving unfairly In Character based on Out of Character judgments (ex: attacking a character because you dislike the player OOC), blocking a player's movement, ejecting or banning a player without just cause, or displaying sexually suggestive or degrading pictures, racist or other derogatory cartoons or drawings.
Methods of harassment are as various as the people who participate in it, so these examples doubtless do not cover every possibility. They are merely intended to give you an idea of what harassing conduct might look like.

Grievance Procedure
Anyone who believes they are being harassed, or anyone who becomes aware of harassment, should promptly notify a dream staff member. If you believe that another staff member is the harasser, a dream guardian should be notified. If you are uncomfortable discussing harassment with a staff member, then you should contact the dream owner.
Upon notification of a harassment complaint, a confidential and impartial investigation will be promptly commenced and will include direct interviews with involved parties and where necessary with persons who may be witnesses or have knowledge of matters relating to the complaint. The parties of the complaint will be notified of the findings and their options.
This will include the collecting of all whisper and main chat logs related to the harassment complaint.
Non-retaliation This policy also expressly prohibits retaliation of any kind against anyone bringing a complaint or assisting in the investigation of a complaint.

Disciplinary Action Feral Utopia views harassment and retaliation to be among the most serious issues currently on Furcadia. Consequently, appropriate disciplinary or corrective action, ranging from a warning to reporting to a Furcadia Guardian, can be expected.
